Centration Measurement & Cementing

Minimization of imaging errors

Centration testing is an important step to ensure high quality and precision in manufacturing optical systems. Correct centering of the lenses is important to minimize aberrations and achieve a clear, sharp image. The functional principle of the centration error measurement is based on the comparison of measured values. The measured values for the position of the lenses in relation to the optical axis are determined and compared with the target values. If necessary, a corresponding correction can be made.

In optics manufacturing, cementing devices are essential tools to create optical components that are used in a variety of applications such as medical, telecommunications, astronomy and microscopy. Cementing devices are essential for high-precision alignment of optical parts.
