Taping / De-Taping

To protect the finished glass surface of an ophthalmic lens blank from scratches and dirt during surface treatment and to prepare the lens for the subsequent blocking process, a protective tape has to be applied to the front of the blank.

With a capacity of up to 300 lenses/h, our Auto-Taper OTT 80 CNC-A is currently the fastest taper on the market. The counterpart to removing the protective foil (de-taping) is the ODT 80 CNC-A, which enables a balanced production capacity with an output of up to 300 lenses/h.
